The Elementals

Check out the new book I am going to read on my vacation, The Elementals. According to many (fans mostly) it is considered one of the scariest horror novels written at the time, 1981, and it still stands the test of time. The author, Michael McDowell, graduated from Harvard and decided to write southern horror novels, I found him while doing a random search on Amazon. He also wrote the screenplay for the classic Beetlejuice and collaborated on A Nightmare Before Christmas. Stephen King once described him as “the finest writer of paperback originals in America today”. Learn more about him over at wikipedia. I have a liking for the strange & random so this should be a good read, but we shall see.
